Favorite 15 Minute Seared + Baked Salmon

My favorite way to make salmon is by searing it first and then baking it! There's no need to go out to dinner to enjoy delicious seafood.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz salmon filets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil + more for brushing extra virgin
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp chili pepper
  • 1/8 tsp paprike
  • 1 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425℉.
  • Rinse salmon, pat dry with paper towel. Spray salmon filets with olive oil spray or brush with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, chili pepper, and paprika. 
  • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat in a cast iron pan. Add salmon filets to pan skin side up and sear for 1 minute. Remove from heat. 
  • Carefully turn filets over with a metal spatula and bake for 7-10 minutes or until flaky in the middle. 
  • Serve right away and drizzle lemon juice over filets and add the fresh chopped cilantro on top.
