Kid-Approved 5 Ingredient Meatballs

The best 5 ingredient and kid-approved meatballs delicious enough for any day of the week. Try them over some pasta, zucchini noodles, or serve them as an appetizer on game days this fall!

Ingredients
  

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Marinara Sauce

  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • pinch ground sage
  • pinch oregano
  • 5-6 fresh basil leaves chopped or torn
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

Meatballs

  • Preheat oven to 400℉. Spray a rimmed baking sheet with olive oil or non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine all of the meatball ingredients and mix together until well incorporated. Form into 1 1/2'' round balls and place on baking sheet at least an inch apart. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until thermometer reads 160℉.

Marinara Sauce

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add onion and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add garlic and stir in.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes, salt, dried basil, thyme, sage, and oregano. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes. Stir in Parmesan cheese and sprinkle torn fresh basil leaves on top.
  • Serve with meatballs. Share the love!!
