Make breakfast easy and quick with overnight oats! Cinnamon apple overnight oats are so delicious and perfect for the fall season!
Do you struggle with finding time for breakfast in the morning? Ugh, it seems we can never get out the door in time. Enjoy a delicious and healthy breakfast without having to do a thing to get it ready besides unscrew the lid on this Cinnamon Apple Overnight Oats.
I was a little skeptical when I made overnight oats the first time since I am used to eating my oatmeal warm but overnight oats are so delicious. I also love how easy they are to get ready the night before. Just pour in a few ingredients, chop up an apple, and top it with some cinnamon, honey, and chia seeds and it’s as simple as that.
I always thought the oatmeal packets were the way to go but when compared to overnight oats they don’t stand a chance. I literally only microwave those packets for 45 seconds and my children have to wait for them to cool almost 5 minutes and that is after I have done my usual “whew whews” to cool them off until I am about ready to pass out!!
So, I have a funny story that I just have to share with you about the oatmeal packets. Alright, so my kids love the peaches and cream oatmeal packets, those are the only kind they will eat. When my husband makes them for our kids, he puts them in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds and every single time I think hmm..that’s not gonna be good because you are going to be blowing on that oatmeal for a very long time. What happens? Always, always the kids complain and whine that their oatmeal is soo hot! 😂 So rather than being the nagger and telling him to please only microwave the oatmeal for 45 seconds I just nonchalantly stop that microwave at 45 seconds. every. time. I mean I just feel like I boss him around enough and I can’t bear to “instruct” him on how to cook the oatmeal packets!
I wonder if he is reading this…hmm. Love you honey.
Life at our house is so fun! Do you notice the little sprinkles of cinnamon around the mason jars of my overnight oats? I usually don’t do much of that…for a couple reasons: 1) I just don’t like messes. Is it real life, yes! definitely it is. There are messes around our house constantly. That is why I just don’t like creating ANOTHER MESS for me to clean up after shooting pics of my food, ya know. 2) Can you guess what a 3, 4, and 5 year old will do when they see that cinnamon on my board? You got it. They blow that cinnamon as far up in to the air that they can so not only is there a mess on my background board but now the window behind my board (with their spit on it) along with all of the cinnamon on my floor as well. So, you can say it makes my pictures a little more interesting when I add it but it really means the Davidson house now has another mess on top of the rest! 😁 Food blogging..it’s a fun thing I promise!!
