Simple Berry Crumble with Oats & Ground Almonds- a bountiful mix of cherries, raspberries, strawberries, pomegranate seeds, and blueberries topped with a delicious crumble mixture of oats, ground almonds, coconut oil, and honey. Eat it for dessert or breakfast! 😉 BONUS…it’s made with frozen berries!
A fruit/berry crumble should not just be for the summer months and no one wants to spend a fortune on all this fresh fruit in the winter so this is a perfect winter berry crumble- a fruit crumble made with frozen berries! YES! And when it comes to berries, the more variety the better!
Forget the chocolate this Valentine’s Day and just make this simple berry crumble because it is wonderful! For the record, I love chocolate. But this crumble may just surpass dark chocolate..maybe. I think it is the sweetness of the berries plus the crunchy texture of the oat topping that creates the perfect treat. Yep, bye-bye chocolate. Today I am sticking with my berry crumble! Or try this Granny Smith Apple Crisp. It’s delicious too!
SO MANY BERRIES! 🙂
Strawberries, Cherries, Blueberries, Raspberries, and Pomegranate Seeds…Oh MY!! These berries alone are packing over 55mg of Vitamin C and 12 mg of fiber. Ahem, not many desserts can claim that. Just saying! 😉
Plus a scrumptious crumble topping consisting of whole oats, ground almonds, honey, coconut oil..what a combination of awesome whole ingredients!
You may just eat the topping right then and there. I won’t judge, because I almost did. This topping will be coming around again. That is for sure!
And 30 minutes later… YUM to the TUM! But also NUTRIENTS to the BOD!
Now this crumble certainly says Happy Valentine’s Day!! Make a berry crumble for someone you love. Make one for your friends. Make one for your family. However, don’t let everyone else be the only ones to enjoy this crumble. Be sure to make one for yourself as well!! This crumble is a good source of fiber and Vitamin C. Be mindful of the amount you eat because calories still add up. However, the fat content is coming from coconut oil. Thumbs up for you in terms of health and nutrition! Go YOU!!

Happy Valentines Day…a day early.
Simple Berry Crumble with Oats & Ground Almonds
Ingredients
- 4 cups frozen berries- I recommend Target Market Pantry Antioxidant Blend Frozen Berries
- 2 cups whole oats
- 1/2 cup almonds ground
- Pinch kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoons honey
- 5 tablespoons coconut oil at room temperature
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Chop the almonds in a food processor until finely ground. Combine oats, ground almonds, salt, and vanilla in a large bowl. Add honey and coconut oil and stir with wooden spoon until well mixed.
- In a square baking dish (8x8 or 9x9), arrange berries at the bottom. Spoon oat mixture over berries and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-35 minutes or until the oat mixture has turned golden brown. Serve warm. Will keep in a sealed container for 7 days but good luck trying to keep it in your fridge for that long.
