I’m sharing a fun update with you today of my daughter Reese’s room. I absolutely love how it turned out. We have made lots of fun little changes that in turn made a huge difference. It now looks like a darling little girl’s bedroom that was done inexpensively.
For all of you that are dying to see the before picture, here it is…
Overall it’s okay I guess, but it seems a little crowded and I was not loving the paint color with the colors in her room.
Here is a list of things we did to update her room:
- Painted her room (color is Nautica Crushed Shells NT594)
- Purchased the large fabric rainbow decal from ShopMejMej on Etsy. I love this adorable little shop and can’t wait to purchase more fun and quality items from them. The decal went up so smoothly and I was able to play around with the clouds and remove them from the wall a couple times and they still went back on so nicely.
- Coordinated her handmade quilt that my mom made with the pink pillow sham from Target. The star pillow and ballerina are also from Target.
Things that remained the same:
- Kept her twin bed, the Catalina from Pottery Barn Kids.
- Left the same dresser, desk and took out the chest of drawers to free up space and added the night stand. We got this furniture from a friend a few months back to replace one large wicker dresser and it’s been great. The hutch is a lifesaver with this girl because she has so many little toys that she is constantly playing with and she is able to just have them all out at once and we attempt to keep it looking nice.
I love updating things but don’t always look to start from scratch. It takes a little work but sometimes a fresh coat of paint and a few details really transform a room without breaking your budget.
I found the rainbow on Etsy several weeks ago and that started all the brainstorming that went into updating her room. And although it doesn’t look like a lot of changes on paper but it seemed like a decent amount of work for the few things we changed.
Reese absolutely loves her new room and honestly I’m kind of obsessed with it because sometimes I just go in there and stare at her cute wall. I’m in love with it!
Don’t you love when you finish redoing a room?! It’s the best feeling! Looking forward to the next update! My husband is rolling his eyes currently…haha.
Happy Friday friends!! Take care!
