Experience something new today and try this amazing blackberry and goat cheese pizza with fresh arugula. It does not disappoint!!
If there’s one thing I prefer so much more homemade it is pizza. A lotta people are going to disagree with me on this one and that’s understandable. But I will never stop wanting homemade pizza with fresh ingredients, this one included.
Oh, and if you are still stuck at blackberries on pizza, just go with it because it’s amazing. We had this pizza for supper but it’s great for lunch too as leftovers. You do leftovers right?! You will want to start if you don’t already because this pizza didn’t last a day in the fridge.
I could honestly stare at this picture of blackberries all day. It makes me want to go purchase some more right now!! They were so yummy. I have been anxious to get my hands on some fresh berries and am so glad summer is right around the corner.
I have been loving the homemade pizza crust I used for the thin crust mushroom and goat cheese pizza. I used it again for this pizza and just can’t resist but you can certainly buy a pre-made pizza crust from the store as well. The homemade pizza dough makes enough for two thin crust pizzas.
The remaining ingredients:

Pizza Dough
- 1 pkg active yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water ranging between 105-115℉
- 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup semolina flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil + more for brushing dough
- cornmeal for dusting baking sheets
Blackberry and Goat Cheese Pizza
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 12 oz blackberries
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 3/4 cup goat cheese crumbles
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 leaves basil, chopped or torn
- 1/2 cup arugula
Instructions
Pizza Dough
- In a bowl combine active dry yeast and water. Let stand for 5 minutes at least, or until yeast is dissolved. Transfer to bowl of stand up mixer.
- Transfer to bowl of stand up mixer. Add flours, sugar, salt, and olive oil . Mix on low speed for one minute. Using dough hook, increase speed to medium-low for 7 minutes. Can also knead dough by hand for 10 minutes.
- Transfer dough to a bowl lightly coated with oil. Flip dough over to coat both sides. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 450℉. Grease 2 baking sheets with non-stick cooking spray or olive oil spray. Lightly dust each baking sheet with cornmeal.
- Punch down dough and divide it into two halves. Roll each half into a ball and let rest for 10 minutes.
- On a floured surface, flatten each ball of dough and roll out into somewhat of a 12 inch round. Transfer dough to baking sheets. Pinch edges all the way around to form a lip. Brush the top of dough with olive oil.
Blackberry and Goat Cheese Pizza
- Add half of the blackberries to a food processor and pulse 3-4 times until coarsely chopped.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over both pizza rounds. Spoon crushed blackberries over cheese and then arrange fresh blackberries evenly over both rounds. Sprinkle goat cheese over both and add the garlic.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are golden brown. Add arugula and basil and serve. Enjoy!
