Tuna Steaks seared and baked with lemon and sage flavors to create the perfect weeknight meal that’s easy and yet delicious!
Seriously, if you don’t know I love seafood then do you even know me??
It makes it hard living in Nebraska sometimes but all the more reason to travel, right?? I cook salmon pretty frequently and cod occasionally but I have never done tuna steaks before and oh my goodness I have been missing out!!! You guys these tuna steaks are so yummy and I just will never get over how quick it is to cook up some fish for dinner. Loooove it!
I marinate the tuna steaks for a half hour prior to cooking them in a bowl with olive oil, lemon zest, chopped sage, salt, pepper, garlic, and fennel seed.
A half hour kind of seems like a long time but when you are getting supper ready it sometimes takes that long just to set the table around here and put in a load of laundry so it never bothers me. You could also be getting a salad put together or whatever side you are going to pair with it. We love a good salad and some good toasted bread on the side.
Anyone else feel like this is a never ending winter we are having??! The cold, the snow, it’s insane! We have bought nearly every possible entertainment/fitness membership this month just to make sure we are getting out of the house.
It’s been so crazy that every morning our kids ask “So, what fun things are we going to do today mom?” And you know what, I always have an answer. It’s that or being cooped up in the house watching the snow fall which is of course wonderful but only for so long.
So today we took our kids to the new How to Train Your Dragon movie. It’s SO AWESOME!! Might just be my favorite one yet and I don’t say that too often about sequels.
Back to these baked tuna steaks…I seared them for one minute on the stove over medium high heat and then baked them for about 8 minutes. This method is really my go-to method for cooking seafood. It just seems to work great!
And I especially love the lemon-sage combo. It just works! And if you happen to have leftovers this might be the best way to mix up some of the best tuna salad you’ve ever had.
Good quality tuna steaks are hard to beat. After you’ve tried this you might be saying, Move over chicken and beef. Moooooove overrrr!
So don’t let the weather get you down too much. Just think of it as a good reason to stay in and cook up some of these delicious baked tuna steaks. You might just think they came from a classy and stylish restaurant…ya I dream like this a lot. 😉
